I'm looking for an interface that will will allow me to specify what media is playing in what zone of my house via a smartphone app (apple or android). This technology exists in an audio solution right now (see: Sonos) but I can't find anyone who is providing a similar solution for audio and video. I want to be able to stand in my kitchen and tell an amplifier to start playing music on the patio while putting a movie on in the living room for example. I don't mind connecting each different zone through a separate piece of hardware. Right now I have separate amplifiers/receivers for all zones.

Can separate WD boxes accomplish most of this goal already? can i have multiple WD boxes on the same network and control them all from my smartphone?

If somebody else offers this already, could somebody point me toward it?

    Thanks!
