Hi, First post, so hello to all.
Here's a question - which might make me sound a bit gormless - but can I, via usb socket on WD player, connect to an external HDD and record anything that I may be viewing at that time (via HDMI). For example, could I record a YouTube or Netfix clip. It's all new to me, as I've only just got the Live SMP, and want to play with it!
Shame it doesn't have the component output - as the older ones seem to have.
    Any help much appreciaed.
    Cheers, Les.

No, it's strictly output via the HDMI from the WD units, unfortunately..

Ha ha... Thought that might be the case! Still, there's the composite output that I could use for recording to a DVD/HDD standalone unit (Liteon) - or is the signal encrypted in any way? Tried the unit using it earlier and it seems to work well, but Netflix seemed very laggy on wireless ( I have Infinity @ 30meg via HH3), although it appeared fine via a long ethernet cable.
Thanks again for your help. Cheers, Les.

You could simply download the YouTube videos and view them whenever you like via the Live SMP.
