I've had the WD Live Plus set up on my home network and functioning without issue for sometime now. I was using Win XP Pro 32 bit as my OS on the computer. Recently I installed Win 7 Pro 64 bit as a dual boot on the system and since then, even though the WD still sees the XP box on the network it will not recognise any shared folders I create in XP. It does recognise the shared folders I create in Win 7 though so it isn't as though I can't connect at all but I was wondering if anyone had an idea why the WD is suddenly having problems with XP?

Have you tried resetting the folder permissions in XP?

The folders are set to share. Is there anything else to check?

See if the WD Link software helps: http://support.wdc.com/product/download.as...006&sid=110 Long time posting my response to this I know but I eventually opted just to be satisfied with access through Win 7 seeing as it is now my primary OS (haven't booted into XP in ages) and I didn't want to chance losing the connectivity I currently enjoy in Win 7 by getting the XP pathways working again in the event that were even a remote possibility. |
