    Hi all

I have no trouble with displaying video thumbs if i create a jpg with the same name as the video file however I didn't want to have to do this for each episode of a series. Reading the release notes on the latest (non beta) firmware is says that you can create a 'folder.jpg' thumb which will be used by all video files in that folder. I have tried this but can't get it to work - has anybody got this to work or is it a case of creating a jpg file for all the episodes (very tedious!)?

    From the release notes:
    QUOTE (WDC)
    For File Thumbnails:
    Video:
    1. Display .MP4 with embedded .JPG
    2. Display image file associated with the video file to be played (for example video.mkv
    will be associated with video.JPG)

It doesen't seem like there's a way to accomplish what you want. Unless it's a feature in a alternative firmware.

    Hi

Thanks for the response - looks like I misread the release notes. I best get busy creating lots of jpg's!

I have folders with multiple shows in them, star wars in one, tv series listed by name in their own folders, folder.jpg works fine here on a 1TB usb drive or on a network drive, worked fine with stock firmware for files on the usb drive, keep at it, it should work fine for you... may require a reboot of the wdtv though..

good luck and keep us posted, always interesting to see what makes it work, then it's easier for others with the same issue!
