Hello all, this is my first post after having gone through the forums and having googled for an answer. I have a problem with my WDTV live with std firmware 1.01.00:
I edited a self made HD movie from my HDV Sony HC3 camera on my Mac (10.6.1) with Final Cut Express (4.0.1) , 'printed' it to DV tape and captured the m2t file with DVHSCap (std settings) to my USB disk which is directly connected to my WDTV Live. Quality when playing back that m2t file via the WDTV LIVE on my Sony KDL32-W4000 full HD TV set is superb. (European TV = PAL) 2 Problems however: 1) the fast forward function (nor the fast rewind) on my WDTV live does not work: 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x I have tried them all , they all are unreliable (you can end up anywhere in the m2t file not where the preview was..) and often it would just jump to the end of the file. 2) the duration of the film shows 18:08 minutes whereas it really should be 59:30 mins. I played the same m2t file flawlessly with VLC player on the Mac and I could go fwd and backwards where ever I wanted to go and VLC also had the duration right. ==> Anyone else experiencing problems with fast fwd (and fast rewind also) when playing an m2t file on the WDTV Live ? Any tips? All help/hints/pointers appreciated. Thx in advance. UPDATE: Nov 2, 2009: Problem SOLVED: I recaptured the m2t file again with DVHSCap and copied it again to the WDTVLive 1.5 TB usb drive. May have been a problem with an incomplete m2t file. Anyway, now it is working, it shows the correct duration (59:30 mins) and I can ffwd and fast rewind in the file and end up where expected. Hope this is helpful. |
