Have you tried contacting WD Support yet? What do they have to say about this weird issue?

I'm pretty sure the Problem is with the one TV, out of three, that doesn't work properly. It's seems like very odd symptoms though. So unique I was hopping someone would recognise them, and maybe a solution.

Odd indeed, but maybe they might have a solution for you. No harm in trying anyway, right? After all, you've posted on an unofficial forum seeking a solution. Now why not ask the official support line as well?

All I can suggest at this point is to try the hard reset button as mentioned in the manual. Another HDMI 1.3 cable might well have helped (as it has others with various HDMI-related issues), but you've already stated that you can't get one in your current location. Also, do you have the latest FW installed?

BTW, if you do figure out a solution, do let us know as well. All the best! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

HY ! First, Sorry for my english !
I think i resolve the problem of Image in HDMI.
After connecting composite cable, the hdmi cable never worked any more.
After many trials, and many cables tested, i never resolved my problem.
I decided to open my wdtv box, if i see any electronical problem.
And then i realised that is just the plastic arround the plug that prevents the plug to go at the bottom.

To solve the problem, you just have to get an HDMI cable with a longuer plug than usual or just to file a little bit the plastic around the hdmi plug in wdtv box.

WD seem to have some big issues with hdmi.
Had GEN2, HDMI output failed after 3 weeks, and limited functionality on remote.
Had a replacement from WD, with the live version.
Can't get the HDMI output to work on that, just doesn't want to know.
Tried two different cables , get 'no signal' from tv.

Given the chioce, would like to have my hard earned cash back.
Never known so much trouble with a product.

Its the TV guys. I have it too ofcourse, at the end I messed my connector from plug/unplugs. Something to do with HDMI protocol esp. on older (3years+) LCDs.
Also it gotten worse with new firmware.
However WDTV Live somehow works fine. 1stG WDTV no
