Mine just updated without issue. Didn't fixed the thumbnail issues as I was hoping for.

It did not 'brick' anything, relax and ask for some help and we can work this out, if not then return it. Please dont jump the gun on your first post, its unfair for you to post a 'warning' about the update.

Hi, Did you use a fat formatted thumb drive? Did make sure the files where in the root? Still no luck? What msg is displayed when you try to update with the thumb drive and fails?

So no response when you insert the thumb drive with the update on it? Does it even try to do anything?

I did the automatic update over the internet.
I was hoping for a fix that stop showing all the movie.jpg and movie.avi files in the video folder. the movie.avi files have the correct thumbnail, I was just hoping I wouldn't see the jpb any more. Any way around this? I believe it is a know issue.

You might want to give this a try... Download the last firmware update (The 1.01.11 can be found here > http://wdtvhd.com/index.php?showtopic=8723) before this one then edit the wdtvlive.ver by changing the number in this line VERSION='1.01.12' to a higher number. Load it back onto your thumb and try to install that firmware.
