       Why cant i play MP4/MKV videos? (pls help)

    i just bought the Mini player and it says it will play mp4 and mkv files but it doesnt just says refer to the manual but thats no help.

    Is there anything i can install? Cud it be because i only can conect it with the red yellow and white cords?
    thnx alot for any help

    Ask WD Support to clarify once and for all whether the Mini supports MKV or not, and then tell them to accordingly fix the darn manual. As for the MP4 files, look at the limits specified in your manual and see if the file exceeds them (use MediaInfo to check). If you want to watch unsupported formats, you'll have to transcode to a supported one, which obviously implies quality loss (unless you have the original sources and can encode once more).
